Maze in Publisher's Weekly - Twice

I was so excited to see that The Maze Runner had not one but two articles in Publisher's Weekly today! And the writeups are so cool - really made my day.

Here is the first one: CLICK HERE.

And the second one: CLICK HERE.

If you missed my writeup about the new book trailer/video for Maze, please CLICK HERE. Go watch it, go vote!

The three week coast to coast tour is almost over - I have mixed feelings. I'm pretty exhausted and excited to be back at home for awhile with my family, but I've also enjoyed the whirlwind of this tour. So many experiences that I will never forget. And so much good food to make me fat. I do look forward to sitting around my office back home in my undies eating doritos, however.

I do want to say this in all seriousness: the future of the world is in good hands. As I've met with students from both middle and high schools, I've been very impressed and encouraged. Most of them know what they want to accomplish in life, and are stone-set to do it. You can see it in their eyes. I'm not so scared to grow old anymore (and sit on my front porch as a geezer in my long johns eating doritos).

Arizona has been so great. I head for LA tomorrow, appearing at Mrs. Nelson's bookshop in La Verne at 4:00. Then I'm speaking at the SCIBA conference Saturday night.

Hope all is well out there. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'll be much more responsive in the comments and on twitter once this tour is done!

Lyrics of the Day:

The selfish, they're all standing in line
Faith in their hope and to buy themselves time
Me, I figure as each breath goes by
I only own my mind

The north is to south what the clock is to time
There's east and there's west and there's everywhere life
I know that I was born and I know that I'll die
The in-between is mine.
I am mine.

I Am Mine, Pearl Jam

Dude...you're in my Houston WalMart!!! I texted you a pic of yours truly with the beloved Maze Runner on the shelf there before I snatched it up and bought it! Congrats, amigo!

This is SO awesome! I am so proud of you! You've made it. You had a dream, you worked hard, and now, you've made it! Keep it up!

Did I mention that my book, The Eye of Tanub is going to be published? They also liked the first three chapters of The Ivory Key so much that they've requested to see the whole thing. I hope to follow in your footsteps! Be there in 5 to 10 years! lol

You're my hero! he he

That's good 'cause if I don't hear from my good friend James now that he's all popular and stuff, I might not try so hard to sell the last copy of Maze at my bookstore... ;-)

Wow. Both of those PW's were AWESOME. Way to rock it, James.

Have a great time on your tour. We'll try to purge the image of you in your undies snackin' on dorritos out of our minds. ;P

I just wanted to let you know that I finished the Maze Runner last night and absolutely loved it! I'll have a review posted on my blog soon. Great book! I can't wait to buy more copies as Christmas presents :)

Can't wait to hear all about your experiences and everything you've learned on your journey.

Great articles. Congrats again. =)

BTW my son did a book report on Mazerunner this week. Totally told his high school English teacher that everyone in the class should be required to read it. Teacher looked it up online DURING CLASS.I think you have a few new fans now. (Thought you'd get a kick out of that.)

Fantastic articles!

Did you tell Carrie Ryan "hi" for me? I am her newest fan. Her book was creepy!

OH MY GOODNESS!! I totally missed you in AZ this week! I'm so sorry. I've been really sick and have lost my mind-I just completely forgot. I'm really bummed. But I'm glad you enjoyed it here. Really- I feel so bad! Geez. Sorry Jamestown. But I just emailed Richard's Aunt telling her to go see you in LaVerne tonight, and I hope she will. That's the best I can do right now.
Let's hope the Cougs smoke TCU tomorrow!

I thought about doing one of those cheerleading chants for you, you know like...

Maze Maze, he's our man
If Dashner can't do it
No one can

But I didn't want to embarrass myself.

So when do we get to see Maze Runner on the big screen?

Hey, Katy here, I went with my parents to your booksigning at the infamous Changing Hands.

SO, I finally finished the book, and ARGHH Mr. James Dashner!!! I will say nothing here, but how could you end it like that?!! How COULD you?!?! Let me just say that I am very angry with you in the best way possible.

Next year can't come soon enough!

Are you having a craving for doritos or something? Or do you miss being able to be alone in your undies?
