Paperback Cover, The Hunt for Dark Infinity

Oh, man, I'm so excited to show this to you guys! What do you think? This will be released by Aladdin (Simon & Schuster) on February 23, 2010. Just 3 months away! It's the second book in The 13th Reality series. The artist is Owen Richardson. I so love it!!!!

If you missed it, the first book (The Journal of Curious Letters) will be released in paperback on December 22 of this year. Then Book 2 in Feb, then Book 3 (The Blade of Shattered Hope) will come out in hardback in April. Here is the PB cover for Book 1 (this was done by a different artist, John Picacio):

The hardbacks were actually done by a different artist as well, Bryan Beus. I'm so lucky to have had so much different talent to experience. :) These guys are all amazing. And a big thanks to my Aladdin editor, Emily Lawrence. She's awesome.

I know it's slightly confusing that I have two series going on at the same time. It just worked out that way. I actually wrote the original draft of The Maze Runner before The 13th Reality. If you've read either one, please try out the other! I really think you'll like both.

To preorder these paperbacks, you can CLICK HERE.

I'll answer questions from the comments in my next post, I promise!

Fantastic book covers, James! Although I must say I really like the original hardback ones best. =) But still, it's so absolutely fabulous it's coming out with S&S in PB form! Congrats!!!

Okay, that is wicked cool. I LOVE that cover. Great, James. I already have a whole shelf of James books. I'll have to start a new one for those! ;)

Very cool. How totally exciting! Congratulations yet again. Hm. It seems like I've been congratulating you a lot lately. You've had a good year. =) And for that, I'm so glad.

Those covers are amazing! I love paperback books. They're cheaper for us poor and lowly college students. :)

I was actually thinking about you and your books in one of my classes the other day. We were talking about something in human development that reminded me of your books . . . I was going to tell you about it . . . Dang it all! I can't remember what it was. If I do remember I'll comment again, because I'm pretty sure whatever it was brought up a question. Haha. :D

Wow. That's the only thing I can say. Right now, I can't think of something sarcastic to say so I'll be nice. That is way awesone. Go James!

I really like THFDI cover! (yeah. It took me a minute to look at the words and write only the first letters and the explanation that I'm giving now is longer than if I wrote out the title.lol)

James,
I haven't read Maze Runner yet, but am planning on making it my next purchase. It was a recommended book by a speaker at the Highlight's Foundation Summer Writer's Workshop. I can't remember who recommended it. Several people in my critque group have read it and love it.

Awesome! I think I might like the paperback cover better than the hardback--they're both good, but this one is really cool!

Congrats!

I love the "13th Reality" books! I can't wait until the third one comes out, if there is going to be a third. Keep up the great work!

P.S. I love both the new and the old covers!

HEY! Thanks for the kind review!
I just realized that you and I are not too far apart, geographically speaking. I live and work downtown SLC. It's a rare thing to meet an author for which I've provided a book cover. We should do lunch sometime. Discuss arts and letters and setch.
Cheers,
Owen.
