Hey guys. THANK YOU for all the congrats on hitting the NYT Bestseller list!!!! A lot of you have been hanging out here from the beginning, and you helped my book get there. So thank you very, very much.
Today I just wanted to give a quick shout out to a book that is now released and in a store near you.....
It's called THE LIMIT, by Kristen Landon. I had the fortune of reading this book early, and I absolutely loved it and gave it a blurb, which just so happens to be on the back cover! Here is a little more info:
An eighth grade girl was taken today . . .
With this first sentence, readers are immediately thrust into a fast-paced thriller that doesn’t let up for a moment. In a world not too far removed from our own, kids are being taken away to special workhouses if their families exceed the debt limit imposed by the government. Thirteen-year-old Matt briefly wonders if he might be next, but quickly dismisses the thought. After all, his parents are financially responsible, unlike the parents of those other kids. As long as his parents remain within their limit, the government will be satisfied and leave them alone. But all it takes is one fatal visit to the store to push Matt’s family over their limit–and to change his reality forever.
“The Limit depicts a frighteningly familiar world with an unsettling twist . . . will keep readers guessing all the way to the end as they cheer on Matt’s ingenuity and his relentless search for answers.”
- Margaret Peterson Haddix, bestselling author of the Shadow Children series
“The Limit is a wonderful book. This glimpse into a possible future becomes all the more frightening because of Landon’s incredibly developed characters and setting, making the whole experience feel all too real. Fast paced, full of great humor, adventure, and surprises, this is sure to be enjoyed by all ages.”
- James Dashner, author of The Maze Runner and The 13th Reality series

That sounds like such an awesome and fascinating book! I tried to reserve it from my library, but it's not there. I guess because it only came out recently. ~,~ But I promise to keep my eye out for it.
I can see why you like the story so much. It almost sounds like something you'd write. ^_~
Heck, even the cover makes me want to get it. Almost done with the few books I'm reading, I need a treat.
I'll go pick it up sometime this week.

Sounds fantastical! Once I'm done rereading THE MAZE, I'll definitely check it out. Great blurb about it, by the way.
Thanks for sharing. I haven't heard of it yet and it sounds great.
Love your work. I figure if you like a book, it is worth reading.
Oh my goodness!!!! I LOVE Margaret Peterson Haddix! And that book sounds spectacular!
Whoa, Totally want to read that now!
I just noticed it in the bookstore myself. I can't remember if I critiqued a whole first chapter early on or that she came to one of my seminars on worldbuilding or something, but I know I did read part of it early on and I've been looking forward to it for a while. But sadly I'll have to wait for the library, because I've cut myself off from book-buying for a while. Either way, looking forward to reading the whole thing
I've heard of it. It sounds facinating. Magenta is right, it does sound like something you'd write, but then again, people usually do tend to write what they love to read....
Hey Dashner, I saw the twitpic of the hardcover copies of Scorch Trials. I hate it. No, not, hate hate it. I hate that YOU have them.
I just barely remembered you've had the TSC countdown since TMZ released.

I hope you don't mind a glowing praise comment... here it goes!
I bought your book (The Maze Runner) to read to my son this summer. To my pleasant surprise my 13 year old daughter was hanging on every word, and wound up reading ahead. It took your book to finally awaken the reader in her! I really never imagined that this would be the genre to inspire her, but I thank you profusely for being that inspiration! We are all looking forward to the 2nd book coming out soon right?
Finally, (FINALLY!) she reads!!!!
Dashner and Duders, I think you all might enjoy this: www.thegladers.info

Anyways, I totally trust your recommendations!!
Hey Dash,
So I went out and got The Limit on your suggestion and it was pretty good. I read the whole thing so it couldn't be bad. Not the best book I have ever read, but definitely worthy of a good review on the site. Thanks man. Hey, if you have any more that you like LET US KNOW!
Thanks!
Dave

Would you say this is Dystopian? I would hate to think that my children could be sent to work in factories if I was in debt. Children.. punished for what their parents do. Not fair.
I have to read it.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Wow. It sounds like a powerful read. Loyal fan that I am, I have to read it anyway - it has your blurb on the back! :-)
This IS a really good book. I read it pretty much immediately after it came out, and it ROCKS!!! All of this futuristic stuff is awesome.
