Back from Tour

Happy November!

It's been three weeks since I last blogged, but I tried to keep everyone updated over on Twitter as I was traveling about the country. You can always go there (CLICK HERE) to catch up on my little tweets.

I had a great time on tour. I went from Boston to San Francisco with several stops in between, and met so many amazing people. I wish I could give a million shout outs, but I'd hate to forget anyone, and I'm sure I would. But a big thanks to all of the literary escorts, teachers, librarians, principals, and bookstore employees who made things happen. Also, huge thanks to my publicists, Noreen and Emily, for arranging such a complex schedule.

Most of all, thank you to all the students and readers out there!!!!! It was just spectacular to meet all of you, and it made me feel on top of the world to see your enthusiasm for my books. Thank you thank you thank you. I'll never forget the experiences I had with you.

My publisher, my agent, and I are thrilled with how THE SCORCH TRIALS has debuted, and I owe thanks to all of you out there. Thank you. It has spent its first two weeks so far on The New York Times bestseller list, and is also a USA Today and Indiebound bestseller. THE MAZE RUNNER is also hitting the lists. So, needless to say, we're all ecstatic, and I'm very thankful to my readers for making it happen.

Now I'm back for a few months, ready to work my butt off. First up is revisions on the third and final book of the trilogy, THE DEATH CURE. I think you're going to be very satisfied with how it all ends.

Anyway, thanks again to everybody out there! I look forward to the next few months of working and keeping in touch with you here, on Facebook, and on Twitter.

And I'd love to keep hearing your thoughts on the sequel, so please let us know in the comments.

I try not to ask my "readers" to read a book because everyone is different, but I loved it and can't wait for the next one. Or the next in the 13th Reality series either.

I LOVED The Maze Runner, reading the entire book in a single day. I was very eager to read The Scorch Trials and it did not disappoint me! It was just as amazing!

I feel like the intensity of the story was taken up a notch in this book and I liked that. There were a few scenes that were so intense and even scary that I gasped out loud and my whole body jerked as a reaction to it. It was AWESOME!

I have recommended these books to about 50 people, plus all my facebook friends. I just bought 5 more copies of each to give as Christmas gifts.

I am a raving fan and I can't wait for The Death Cure!

3 weeks certainly is a long time to be on the road! Happy editing on the last book. Would love to volunteer as a Beta reader--we met at your book-signing in Austin. I was the one with the iPad!

Anyway, the editing is coming at a good time. I'm doing a NaNoReMo myself, rewriting my first novel--yet again.

I loved The Scorch Trials, and I can't wait for the next one. I think it's interesting that people have compared your series with The Hunger Games, because even though the premise had similarities, they feel completely different. I liked your books better than Hunger Games because even when your book turns a bit dark, there's an overriding feeling of optimism that pushes the reader on to see what happens next.

I also appreciate how real you make the setting feel. That's one thing I want to get a lot better at.

Just finished The Scorch Trials and LOVED IT!!!!!!!!! I can't believe you are making us wait another year for the death cure!

I think you are a bit crazy (No offense or anything) putting all of those people through that! UGH! I about screamed and jumped out of my skin during a few scenes! Don't worry, your still one of my favorite authors :)

Can't wait for the death cure!

You certainly have captured my attention. I saw the maze runner on a staff reccomendation at barnes and noble, and I read it in a week because I loved it so much. I went back right away for the scorch trials, and read it this week, the last fifty pages I was shaking with tension. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the final book, and I don't know how I am going to hold out for so long!
You have officially topped The Chronicles of Narnia and tied with Harry Potter in my list of favorite series/trilogies. Thank you for your works!

James! I'm glad you had such a good time on tour! So I've been living under a rock and just barely bought my copy of Scorch. I'm starting it tonight and am so excited! But I was just curious, how did you come up with the name Minho? If you don't get around to answering I understand, but I'm just curious. You rock! :)

Last Christmas I put the Maze Runner down as a book on my Christmas list (one of about a billion books) I expected it to be just likt any other book. I was wrong. I loved this book. It is now in my top ten (which is saying alot for someone who has their own library) Because I'm in college, time isn't available all the time and I just finished reading The Scorch Trials. I loved this book equally as much and can only hope on your next book tour you'll come somewhere near Maryland so I can tell you how much I love these books in person.

Just finished S. Trials and LOVED it. I did like Mazerunner because you did a great job of making me feel just as confused as the character in the lingo, etc. Brilliant. I wasn't sure where you were going but loved, loved the sequel and can't wait for numero 3. Please don't pull a S. Collins and make me feel sorry for the bad guys though. Also I was super angry at Theresa and a great English teacher told me that many authors can make you interested but very few can actually make you angry.

I just finished reading The Scorch Trials and I couldn't be more pleased! Thank you for being such a creative and talented writer. I can't believe I have to wait a whole YEAR to read The Death Cure now! I'm counting down the days...=]

Please tell us the main plot the The Death Cure! I want to know so badly it hurts! I keep trying to find something on Google, but I can't find ANYTHING! If you truly love your readers than put us out of our misery, I need SOMETHING to get me through the year!
