Authorpalooza Pictures

Okay, first of all, I'm very angry at myself because I totally forgot to do pictures until it was basically too late. And the people I wanted to get one with the most, the awesome people at Barnes and Noble (I'm talking about you, Brandi, Melyn, Michelle, Sylvia, Courtney, man, it seemed like you had about 40 people working yesterday!) I never got because I'm an idiot.

Anyway, a big thanks to Brandi for spearheading this amazing event, in which over 30 local authors came to sign and hang out for three hours. It was really fun.

The giveaway (3 ARCs of THE MAZE RUNNER) continues until Friday at noon, at which time I'll announce the winners. CLICK HERE to read about it, and you can leave a lyrics comment there or here to enter. We broke 100 comments for the first time on the Dude - congrats faithful Duders!

Speaking of, I think 7 or 8 of our long time faithfuls came out to the store last night. It was really great to see you guys.

Okay, sorry I missed so many of my peeps in these pictures, but I did get a few good ones:

J. Scott Savage (FARWORLD), Bron Bahlmann (BONE WARRIORS, published before he has a driver's license), me

Frank Cole, creepy as always (I'll be blogging about his HASHBROWN WINTERS book very soon)

JN Future Author (not sure I can say his real name, one of THE most faithful Duders. Another one, #1, is supposed to email me the picture she took of us)

Laura Bingham (ALVOR, I blurbed her excellent book)

Last but not least, Jessica Day George (DRAGON SLIPPERS, PRINCESS OF THE MIDNIGHT BALL, etc.) looking like she'd rather be gored by a rhino than be seen with me

Sorry I couldn't stick around for a photo, but I've got something in the works for you, so maybe next time....

Thanks for the pics James! i appreciate them. I wish i was able to attend, but as i told you, too much work to hop on a plane across the country to turn around and come right home! ill catch you next time you are in NY. Great shot of you and Laura. As i told you in the last post, im holding our first book giveaway contest at our site. I will be giving away a signed copy of Laura's (who you took a pic with) new book "Alvor" as well as a copy of "The Maze Runner". As i said when you had us post about "weird stuff about us" i HATE odd numbers, so since you were giving away 3 copies of the Maze Runner ARC, I HAD TO have a contest to give away a 4th. Please check out our site for a chance to win a new ARC of "The Maze Runner" (later tonight) as well as a review of this awesome book. Like I have said before, this book will be required reading in every middle school through college across the country. Id be willing to bet an ARC of Maze on it, but soon, it wont be mine anymore, it will be one of yours! Check it out, and if you were one of the lucky ones to see James last night, i envy you.

Yo, James, Wil the inconsistent blog commenter but still big fan here.
One thing about being thirteen that is really frustrating is that I can't relentlessly track you around the country, popping up at every event like a disturbing stalker. Luckily I can still read each of your books multiple times. Tell us all when you drop down into Houston, I'll be the weirdo with long hair and glasses with your likeness printed on his t-shirt (kidding about the shirt... maybe).

I'm so dang sad I missed this. It was so close to my place but murphy's played a trick on me and I'm visiting my inlaws. Apparently that means everything cool must happen the week I'm gone.

Wil, if you're weird, you'll fit right in!

Really nice pictures! My favorite ones are of J.N. and Laura Bingham! You guys all look great. ^_^(Yes, even you, Dude. =P)

Wow, so that was really the first time ever your blog broke a hundred comments? *sniff* I'm so glad I was here to watch it happen! Props to everyone for making that possible for Dashner... and good luck to the winners come Friday!!!

I wish I could have come to this event and joined in all the fun... Next year, next year... ~_~

Now I'm doing this because I really want a copy of Alvor signed by Laura Bingham: Check out Dave and his family's site! It's really fun to read their reviews, and they'll have fun contests and everything!

(And remember to tell them that I sent you. Or not. It'll give me extra points if you do, though...)

Yeah, rub it in. I wasn't able to be there. It looks like you had a lot of fun. Just wait, when you come to Georgia, I'll take more pictures than a tween at a Jonas Brothers concert.

We have loved the 'Journal of Curious Letters.' We live in Georgia...heh

Anyway, we are a bit behind in getting 'The Hunt for Dark Infinity,' but we will be enjoying it together.

Thanks!

James, I am in the middle of posting about Authorpalooza. I came by to get the link to your blog and thought I would tell you it, and the picture, will be up in about 10 minutes.

Hey James!
Just curious, how big was the turn out and how many books did you sell? I've never been to a book signing and was curious how effective they were...hoping you sold 100 but since I have no idea at all, its just a guess.

#1, Dave, I think you guys just misunderstand each other. #1 doesn't have a malicious bone in her body but she does like to tease. Dave, I imagine you're the same.
