Upcoming Events

Hey, if you live in Utah, I hope you'll try to come see me at Barnes and Noble in Orem this coming Tuesday (Aug 11) at 7:00 pm. Brandi is the CRM there and she's doing an Authorpalooza and I'm really rooting for her to have a good turn out.

Other authors include J. Scott Savage (FARWORLD) and Jessica Day George (DRAGON SLIPPERS) and several others (sorry, don't know the whole list). Come see us! It should be a very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of time for chit chatting.

Also, another really cool event is coming up in Ogden UT on Saturday, August 29th. It's the second annual Writing for Charity writer's conference with big names like Shannon Hale and Brandon Mull. I'll also be there. It's for aspiring writers and every cent of the proceeds goes to support the non-profit Treehouse Museum. For more information, CLICK HERE.

I'm also doing a couple of conferences in September, but I'll give you more information on those as we get closer. And I think that's pretty much it until the release tour for THE MAZE RUNNER. Only eight and a half weeks away!!!!!!

You local Duders come see me in Orem on Tuesday. Please? Don't make me beg.

By the way, don't forget to follow me on Twitter now: CLICK HERE.

Lyrics of the Day:

She runs through the streets with her eyes painted red.
Under a black belly of cloud in the rain.
In through a doorway,
She brings me white gold and pearls, stolen from the sea.
She is raging, she is raging,
And the storm blows up in her eyes.
She will suffer the needle chill.
She's running to stand still.

Running to Stand Still, U2 (Not a clue what that means, but it sure sounds awesome.)

Numberonedashnerfan,
James is one of my all time favorite authors. He knows that. Yes, I do have a fairly new site, and my first review was of maze runner. That was no accident. I even asked james to look at it first out of respect to make sure it didn't contain any spoilers he wouldn't want in there. I didn't stop by randomly and "advertise". I'm obviously a dedicated dashner fan and have been posting regularly for a while. On "my" site, I pump up james as much as I can. Is it so horrible that I post about my site here? I'm working on an interview with james for the release of maze and trying to get a book of his to give away. Also, I have even asked james to let me know if he does not want me to post my site on here. He blogs every few days and every time I post my site I'm sending people there to promote him. Not just him, but a lot of him. I could see if I never posted here and my only posts were to "advertise" my site, but that's not the case. James, or anyone else, if my posting the link to my site here is bothering you, please let me know. I usually do it ONCE every time James blogs as I do want people to check it out. James even posted on my site about his review! I'm sorry and again, if it is too much, someone tell me to stop and I will. I'm not looking to upset anyone.
Dave

Btw, many of james fans have come to my site and thanked me for the review of the maze runner. Book Blogging is supposed to be about sharing thoughts and feelings on books. That's what I'm "advertising". And again, if its too much anyone please tell me and ill be happy to stop. Sorry

James,
Told the wife I was moving to Utah just like you said and she can come or stay. It doesn't make sense for me to have to pay 2 mortgages,(you can guess her reaction) so I'm sorry, hopefully you will post some pics for me. :O( oh and if I did have to pay 2 mortgages, I wouldn't be able to buy your books any more, so I hope you agree that I should stay put (for now anyway) :O)

Dave,
like I said before I am sorry and I didnt mean to hurt anyones feelings and I have checked out your review before I was mad at the time that I wrote that comment and so sometimes I dont think before I write and I am guilty of having put my blog address ( http://numberonedashnerfan.blogspot.com/) on here before....And yes I realize your helping promote James books......I dont care if you promote your website.... if you want I can put up on the sidebar of my site your blog address as an apoligy once I figure out how and I will for james blogs 2 because honestly if it wasnt for him I probalbly would have nothing really to do with books......
Sorry- numberonedashnerfan

Anyone else who I have hurt them in anyway i am very much sorry ( I am a little reluctant to say sorry because if used to much will demolish its meaning)

James if I am allowed to ask how far away are you from the golf course now?

I am so going to be there on Tuesday. See you soon!

#1, all in good spirits means "just for fun". I even posted on your site calling myself numberTWOdashnerfan. Come on, lifes way too short. I read your posts on your site. Take a break to laugh and have sone fun. Noone should tell you who to be friends with. As your own person, you should make those choices. Sometimed we don't make the right choices, but the consequences are noones but our own fault. I say continue to be friends with her. And laugh a bit, my post was a joke. Meant to break the ice #1. My apologies to all for boring you. And I'm sorry james for this but glad I provided you with what I'm sure was a shake of the head and a 2 second grin ;o)

It's too bad I don't live in Utah. >,< Sorry James, but you forgot to mention that Laura Bingham (ALVOR)is also going to be at the Authorpalooza! I'm sure you'd have mentioned her if you'd remembered though, so I'll give you a break. You probably meant her to be part of the "several others"...

I already finished Maze Runner, btw! A masterpiece of fiction, I must say. Whoever it was that said this book should be required reading in schools, they were absolutely right. Especially for those who want to be psychologists. ~_~ It just blows the mind! Where on earth did this story idea come from, Dude, in the dark, cruel depths of your imagination? I loved it!

I'll post a review very soon, so those who know the address already know where to go if they want to see it. ^,~

And boys, (Dave & #1) chill out. That's all I'll say. But you've probably already chilled by now, so I won't say anything more.

Dave said...

Magenta,
Good call on mentioning Laura! Alvor was awesome! Thanks to James for the cool words on Alvor. And you should know better who said "Maze" WILL be required reading all schools! But I'm glad someone agrees :O)
Dave
