The Winners

Thanks to everyone who participated in the giveaway this week. I really enjoyed reading all the lyrics - and I was totally amazed at how varied the selections were. And I was a little embarrassed because a lot of the stuff I'd never heard of.

Speaking of music, it really hit me the other day how varied my own taste is. I always keep a list of random songs I might hear here and there so I can get them off iTunes later. Ya know, you'll hear some song on the radio or at the mall or whatever that you hadn't thought of in years.

Well, the last time I bought songs, I got stuff from the Kenny Wayne Band, Rage Against the Machine, The Cult, The Airborne Toxic Event, and, um, Blondie. Yeah, that's right. Blondie.

Anyway, enough rambling. It's time to announce the three winners of ARCs for THE MAZE RUNNER. These will be coming directly from Random House to you, so enjoy!

Oh and James thank you for understanding oh and btw I already tried entering that contest but it didnt work because the guy who has that website thinks ok to disclude people that is all I am going to say about that and because I said something bad about him i will say something nice in return he has cool reviews on his website....

Blondie's one of my faves. Heart of Glass transports me to my high school every time I hear it.

I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Congrats to the winners!

Congratulations to the winners! Hopefully there will be another contest soon. I'm new to this site and just want to throw my two cents about a response to my last entry. Apparently his number one fan uses this blog as an outlet to express their feelings. I have read a lot of the recent posts, and they seem to tease and voice their opinion when it isn't asked for. I'm confused why you are bothered by me writing about Daves blog in my post. It is a review and contest for The Maze Runner. Very relevant to the subject on hand. If you really are the number one fan, out of respect for this author, why aren't you displaying your manners? Use your own blog for all of your posts. When someone clearly asks you to leave them alone, why would you instigate them more? Dave, I would not respond to any more of their posts. You seem to be a mature family man. Clearly no matter how many times you ask they will continue to address you. Well, I hope you both can find peace and move on!

I do not want the integrity of my contest or my site to be challenged. I do not exclude anyone from my contests, as a matter of fact, if you look at the contest, #1 dashnerfan is the first to post and is entered in both of them. Thank you again James for posting a link to the contest. It is my pleasure to give one more fan a chance to read the ARC of Maze.

Congrats, Q and the other winners! All of you will absolutely love Maze Runner!!! I guarantee it!

The rest of you will either have to wait for October, or go to the site you (hopefully) by now know has another ARC to offer. ^,~

ITS BEEN TOO LONG. Sorry there, Dashner Dude. Totally missed all the fun at Authorpalooza and the contest what a busy week you had.

Dave nice job on the contest thanks for posting on Inkingcap.blogspot. Loved seeing you over there.

Two notes since I'm here catching up on the Duder posts.
1) Dashnog=Therpe-a misunderstanding from one blog to the next that causes a long drawn out response chain. What's with all the therping on this site lately?

2) Saw GI Joe movie last night. I'm sure that James will see it because he sees everything. Here's my plug for the Joes. They are totally hardcore and the plot DOESN'T suck either. The only complaint I had about this movie was that I hardly had time to take a deep breath between action sequences. Two thumbs up on this one.

Diva,
Don't thank me, your guy's site (your guy's???) is awesome, and fun too! The reality show post was hilarious! I am to blame partly for the THERPING <---is that how you would spell the past tense? No more therping for me,as I realized it is disrespectful to James and those others that I care about here (dabookmom opened my eyes to that in her post before and my 9 year old told me to drop it and go about my business...seriously!). So my apologies James, I was stooping and for an adult and a dad, that was not cool, and for that I am sorry and hope you accept my apology, as it is your site. I will keep loving your books, keep posting about them, and behave so I can still get that interview you promised. LOL No, seriously, I'm done. I've been wasting my time when I could have been working more on my site or reading or posting more about how much I love maze and WISH that I could have come to Utah the other day AARRGGHHH! Alright, I can't wait to gice away a copy. You had so many people who wanted it! That appears to be good foreshadowing. I told you the other day I hope they are starting to print the next 100k copies. Anyway, that's about it. Thanks to your link and all those here who have helped my contest, my inbox has been flooded! I sat with a client today and my blackberry kept vibrating the whole meeting! Until next time...

I thought this site could use a bit of humor tonight so I must share. I was in barnes and noble at the mall tonight while my wife and girls were shopping around (what the heck would I be doing in a barnes and noble???)

Anyway, I was in the YA section just scoping out the shelves for fun. There was a guy standing a few feet away doing the same thing I suppose. A few minutes later 2 girls probably around 15-18 came up to him. One said, "I need some money to buy an outfit for school" amd the other said "mommy said she needs your credit card"

I grinned as I know the feeling having a wife and 2 daughters. Well, shortly after he turned to walk down the isle and in passing I caught sight of his t-shirt he was wearing and it had a picture of his wife in the middle and both hos daughter on each side of her with big smiles on their faces. Above the picture were the words "Their ATM" with an arrow pointing down to them. If that wasn't funny enough, I asked him if I could take a picture with my phone as that classic. He said,"I'd rather you not as I don't want to find my picture on yourube or something like that when I get home". I should have said, "I would never post that on youtube, just www.jamesdashner.com"
I don't know...I thought the whole thing was hilarious. Only in NJ!

James,
I think I've paid my dues enough to get a formal definition of DASHNOG. I have an idea, but I'd rather hear it from the Dash's mouth. (Ooh, I like the sound of that...DASH. Its almost like "the Flash" without the FL) so I might start callin you that. Thanks and I'm waitin to know what the heck a dashnog is!
Dave

Magenta said...

Dave,
I may not be the Dash (nice nick- name for James, but I like calling him Dude myself. ^,^), but I can tell you what Dashnog is.

I can't tell you where the word itself came from, but Dashnog is a word that you get from the word verification you need so your comment can be posted, and you make it into an actual word that you invent the definition for.

For example, my verification word is reaketed. Hmm... of course that word is too close to rocketed or reacted, so let me get another one...

Joulne... that sounds like a funny one! I now declare joulne to mean: the months of June and July combined. Pronunciation: JEWL-ne.

Thanks for bringing up the subject of Dashnog again... I was kind of wondering what had happened to it...

Where did joulne go? Where did this entire year go? It's too fast!!!

Dave said...

Magenta, so let me give it a try

Dashnog:smunes- to coin the phrase; to own the rights to

I smunes callin James "DASH"!

Well, it was my first time..can you scramble the word in the word verification? Interesting stuff

Forgot about the knee. MRI...open or closed? You are a good man if closed. I had 4 of them, 1st one closed. Wayyy too much for me to handle. Had to have the next 3 open. Good luck on your knee if that's what you are up to. Let us know what's going on. So, is your group of dedicated fans called your "Dash Stash"?
