Paperback, Facebook, Articles

Well hi there everybody! I hope your week is turning out just swell.

Just a few cool things:

1. The paperback of THE MAZE RUNNER is officially in stores! I'd love to hear from anyone who has picked it up, discovered it for the first time, what you think of the bonus material, etc. Speak!

2. Random House has put up an official Facebook page for the MAZE RUNNER trilogy, and I need all my Duders to show your presence! Check it out: CLICK HERE.

3. I owe a TON to the HUNGER GAMES trilogy. Though my series was sold to Random House well before the first book even came out, I was in the right place at the right time because the dystopian/post apocalyptic tale has really surged because of Suzanne Collins' books. Thank you Ms. Collins!!!! How has it helped me, you ask? Here are two examples:

4. I was mentioned in this USA TODAY article about the release of MOCKINGJAY: CLICK HERE.

5. As if that wasn't cool enough, a few days later, I was mentioned in this NEW YORK TIMES article: CLICK HERE.

6. Both of those were very surreal to me. I know I'm still acting like a giddy rookie, but I am and I can't help it!

7. Random thought of the day: I love my new iPad more than my children, but I would never tell them. Doh!

The Maze Runner was fantastic and I can NOT wait for The Scorch Trials! I tell all of my fellow Hunger Games fans about your books. Everyone that has read them has loved them, just as much as I do! I clicked "like" on the Maze Runner FB page!

What!!! You have an ipad?! I don't know why that excites more than anything else you have to say. Hm. :-)

Really, you love your ipad that much? I'm skeptical about the ipad. I'm a huge apple fan (have a macbook) but I just don't see the use for an ipad--it's too small to type on and too big to replace an iphone. So tell me, what are its advantages? How can it replace my children who can actually fetch me things?

He owns an iPad: yet another reason to be jealous of James Dashner... :)

I'm so excited for you! ^_^

I checked out all your links. I was the third to comment on the Maze Runner Facebook page (yay!) and I spotted you in those articles. Awesome stuff.

Suzanne Collins is coming to my library next week! I can't wait to meet her. So many questions I want to ask her...

And yeah, jealous about your iPad. >_<

Score on the recommendations list. That's got to make your day even more than an ipad...right? Anyone can buy an ipad.

And to James's kids- don't worry, your dad's just going through a phase. He still loves you more.

And to think, I've shaken your hand! ("I'll never wash again.")
Seriously fun stuff going on for you JD! Enjoy the ride.

Hey Dash!

I actually picked up the paperback yesterday. God knows I don't need another copy of Maze, but hey, a faithful duder is just that. The "confidential" files at the end are cool. Wish there was more. You should figure out a way to add more but online somehow. Just a thought.

Ipad- I had got one (as all faithful bloggers should) when they came out. I too love it AS MUCH as the kids (correcting you statement) but wish at the time I got the one with internet embedded. Otherwise, I love and use it every day.

Did you get the one with the internet service or wifi?

and i'm sure that nobody will ever know that you love your ipad more than your children... it's not like this is a public blog where everybody can read what you say and, oh, and of course it's not like you have thousands of fans... who is this james dashner?
yeah, they will never know that you think something like that

That's a sin, Dashner, you can't love your iPad more than your children.

I'll try and pick up a copy of the Maze Runner paperback to give away on my blog.

Congrats on everything.

Did you read Mockingjay? I cried at the end, so sad yet so good.

Fb suggested The Maze Runner to me, so I liked it! I've been waiting for the scorch trials since JANUARY (that was when I finished The Maze Runner) so I really can NOT wait!!! It's so amazing that a lot of articles tie your book with the hunger games. I want the paperback of TMR because you said that it has the preview of TST. (:

LanaTheIguana said...

Btw, I'm in love with my iPad, too. ;)

Leesie Jones said...

EEEKKK!!! I totally finished yesterday. Man-you guys are going to love it. It was brilliant, but my whole review is in an email I sent to the genius behind the book.
(Yes, I'm talking about Dashner.)
Reply to the email! i want to see what you think about my thoughts.

Jackson Porter said...

I haven't said this yet. I can't believe Dashner gave the book to Jones, Leesie Jones. Yeah, a sin. Now we have to live with 'the person who knows everything' for another two-three months.

Leesie, shhhhhh.

No one wants to know anything.

You have a fellow ipad fan! I LOVE my ipad! That is actually how I found your book... I was trying to find the release date to Mockingjay, the final book of the Hunger Game series, and it suggested the Maze Runner! My husband and I love it and we are so anxious to find out what happens in the upcoming books! Congrats on the success! I have been telling my fellow readers to make sure they read the Maze Runner.

Leesie Jones said...

Hey! I never gave anything away, did I? No. I didn't. And if your not going to say anything nice, don't say it at all, Porter.

Jackson Porter said...

I was joking, Jones. I know you didn't give anything away. I also know how TEMPTING it is to tell somebody. Shhh, and don't rub it in. We're all jealous.

I really enjoyed the Maze Runner. I teach 4th grade and while it is too intense for most, the ones who could handle it loved it. In terms of craft, I loved the cliffhangers at the end of each chapter. I loved that the reader had to quickly take in and understand all the rules of the Glade alongside our main character. You gave bits and pieces at just the right pace. And when the door closed, I think every readers heart stopped. Great story.
