Never Give Up!

I think many of us must feel like this football team felt on the last play of this game. I've never seen anything like this. See all those laterals? That's you, submitting and submitting and then submitting again, until you get that phone call one day: "Hey, you, we'd like to publish your book!"

You gotta watch this. CLICK HERE

The first thing I thought of when I saw your post title was Galaxy Quest. 'Cause I'm really nerdy like that.

What an apt analogy!

Why am I not in your sidebar? You've been on my links list from the moment you first set up this blog.

Sheesh!

What impressed me when watching this video is just how much yardage each lateral cost the team, yet it allowed them to keep the ball alive.

Applying that to the writing analogy, I think of how many times I have scrapped whole sections of the manuscript because it just wasn't working out. Moving backwards gave me the room I needed to move the story forward again.

Thanks for sharing this video.

Don, that is a great analogy. Me likey. I hate deleting stuff I've written, to a fault. It's a brave and hard thing to do, but makes us better.

Luisa, I don't argue your nerdliness if that's what you thought of. Good job!

Tristi, quit your whining. My sister was in charge of that, and she doesn't like you.

Ha! Just kidding. It's up now.

James,
Loved the video and just had to say I hope you caught another awesome football game on Monday night. I'm going to be drawing some analogies from that one because I was there! Yessirree, my husband is on cloud 9 and will probably stay there forever because we got to go the the NFL Denver vs. Green Bay Packers game and his team one with an awesome long bomb by Favre in overtime! I'm thinking it won't be hard to find some writing analogies from that experience to put on my blog. It was awesome! Thanks for the idea!

I did indeed catch the Packer game, and because my Falcons stink to high heaven (thank you, Mr. Vick), I'm kinda rooting for Favre by proxy. That was awesome you guys got to be there.
